Two trips to Ithaca in two years--life is sweet. Linka called me up and asked me to jump into the mix again this year, and the answer is always YES. I flew out to New York and proceeded to have an equally excellent time as I did the year before. Highlights in no particular order include:
Crashing at the Billings house for the whole gig. I love that place, and the Billings' are great hosts. Speaking of the Billings, watching them work overtime to make the festival happen, even though they were not officially the organizers. CTB run with Marco and the gang on Friday night. Talking with Marco on the walk back from town. Watching Joe Showers tears up the stage in drag. Watching Norbi onstage and seeing how far he has progressed since Derby 2004. Working with Jeff Peden again. Marco and Sebastio's set--really fun and playful--I loved the flour on the stage actually. Renegade craziness again. Me pretending to be Slammin Andy by yelling SHOW US YOUR COCK!!! at the most impolite moments. Hilby just rocking the stage with street-wise skills and German-patter. Jamming with Ross at Renegade. Linka's outfits for the weekend. Seeing Sky and Krista again. Brunch at the State St. Diner with Billings and Co. Siteswapping with Joe in the Billings front yard on Sunday--one of the best such sessions I've ever had--SUPER fun. Kendama Thai food and videos later that night with the Billings boys and Joe. Missing my flight home in the morning because I mis-remembered the time, but managing to score an odd flight here and there that got me home only 7 hours later than originally planned (I was lucky).
