My third MONDO was definitely sweet for several reasons. First and foremost, I got to spend mucho quality time with Mick and Kirstin Lunzer again. They hosted me in fine style for the third time in several years. You just can't beat juggling in the living room with Mick, while Baxter and the cats mill about, and Kirstin's cooking some tasty steaks in the kitchen. Jerry Martin once again hooked me up big time and I humbly accepted his offer to join the fun this year. Highlights for me in no particular order include: The Brave New Workshop show on Thursday night--WOW. Go see their "How to Make Love like a Minnesotian--Sleepless in Shakapee" show. It is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen in my life. Period. Teaching the new Club Multiplex workshop and hearing that it helped a few folks. Teaching the Factory Variations workshop and really seeing it improve over time. Seeing my boys Robin Chesnut and Myron Pauls (and learning a new Factory variation from Myron!). Catching up with Jon Poppele and his growing Aikidou doujou on Saturday night after the show. Talking with Jimmy Robertson and Bob Nickerson while bouncing on Saturday night. Sucking on the stage Saturday night, and yet still pulling some of my hardest 1 diabolo excalibur stuff onstage. Figuring out the flaws in some of my technique after the show. Jamming with Doug on Sunday (123456789 and 94493344 Factory-2 cycles!!!). Watching the Danger Committee and Warren/Bekka kick ass onstage on Saturday night.
